One of my favorite vegetables are Brussels sprouts. As luck would have it, my whole family loves that vegetable as well. So eating lots of them works for us. How about you, do you have a favorite vegetable? Cooking mindfully is key to bringing peace into your food and body. Not only does it taste better but you feel happier as well. Just looking at a bag of them makes me happy. As I get home from the store I open the bag of Brussel sprouts. One by one I cut the ends off and cut them in half. I notice how hard they are and all their leaves are rolled up in a ball. Breathing in and breathing out I wash them in the sink and next I melt some butter in the pan. A hand full at a time I put them in the hot pan. Breathing in and breathing out, I notice how cute they are, they are like bright green mini cabbages. As they get a bit brown I turn them over and sprinkle some salt on them. Breathing in and out I feel thankful for my veggies, I am excited to serve them for dinner and can’t wait to taste them. Once ready to serve I take one and eat it: I love how it’s crunchy, yet soft on the outside, the taste is salty, yet sweet and they just taste delicious cooked in lots of butter. So enjoy eating your favorite veggies mindfully, one bite at a time, one breath at a time, one moment at a time.Â
