
Some of us have a hard time sitting still while meditating, if so this is the perfect 3 minute meditation for you. First sit comfortably in a chair or easy pose on the floor. Stack your hands flat on top of each other (palms both facing the floor) , leaving about 3-4 inches apart. Next make a circular motion with your hands by moving the top hand over the other and keep going in a rhythm that feels good for you. Follow your breath, noticing the cool air moving in through your nose, chest and expanding the belly and notice the air moving out, deflating your belly. After 3 minutes breathe in deeply, hold the breath for 5 seconds and breath out. This meditation channels your energy into a positive direction.

Teens yoga and Mindfulness on Tuesdays 11am -12 noon:
This 8 week series of Yoga and Mindfulness class is especially designed for teenagers ages 11-19. It integrates clips of popular family movies, such as Star Wars, Avatar, The Last Airbender, Karate Kid and more to illustrate how to live a more zen lifestyle. Introducing kids to yoga, mindful movements and meditations foster increased focus, a balanced lifestyle and the ability to regulate one’s emotions. Mindfulness empowers your inner Jedi force, also called your intuition. In this course teens will discover their own personal practical daily mindfulness routine to better handle stress and anxiety and thereby live a more peaceful life.

This 8-week Zoom series ends August 5th. The series is designed to teach children about the various emotions we all encounter and how we can manage those emotions in healthy ways.
Each week we will introduce the kids to a new emotion and give coping strategies that they can apply to everyday life.
Class is 1 hour: about 30 minutes of yoga, 10 minutes of Mindfulness, and a book reading ( a little spot of emotion series by Diane Alber) discussing the emotion of the week. Open to kids all ages.

This 8–week series is designed to give kids ages 8–11 yoga and mindfulness skills so they can find inner peace. Class will include 30 minutes of yoga, mindfulness breaths and at–home activities to balance the mind and body.
Mindfulness Program for Adults

Starts June 23 for 8 weeks
$60 for Y members; $120 for community participants
This class focuses on relaxing the mind and body. Movements include mild stretches, mindful breathing, guided meditations, and being still.
