
It’s been a long journey for me to find a calmer place within myself. Originally from the Netherlands I moved to Los Angeles and Miami where I chose to pursue a career in modeling and acting (very fake and shallow world) to now living in a small city in New Hampshire, where I completely shifted gears and am now teaching mindfulness.
When living in Los Angeles and Miami thoughts like: “I am not good enough, why would they hire me? In order to feel good, I need to look good!!! I am only as good as my last job.” would pop up into my head on a daily basis. Of course I was also happy at some moments and even with all those negative thoughts I still had an ok career.
However, sometimes even in a small city away from all this shallowness I still struggle with my negative thoughts.
But why????? I have read so many spiritual books about self-growth and healing, gotten certificates in Soul Focused Healing, Reiki, various yoga modalities, Conscious Discipline, Family Constellations, Mindfulness, learn from my amazing mindfulness coaches such as Daniel Rechtschaffen and Susan Kaiser Greenland. … so as I start breathing in and out I think : “Get a hold of yourself women!!!!”
What the difference between my life back then and now? Now I have the tools of mindfulness to make better choices and understand what’s going on in my brain when I go into a “not-so-happy” place. I realize you can move all over the place but the peacefulness you create is within. It’s not what job you have, where you live, how you dress, etc. it’s about how you feel inside.
I am very passionate about sharing mindfulness, I love creating community and am thankful for everyone in my life that’s enjoying the teachings of mindfulness.
